Economy and Infrastructure
Kotelnikowo is located in an area that is still dominated by agriculture today . For this reason, the city's industry, with businesses in the food industry and agricultural machinery, is strongly geared towards this sector. However, mechanical engineering in particular practically came to a standstill during the permanent economic crisis of the 1990s. Instead, there are currently plans by the EuroChem Group to set up a chemical combine in Kotelnikowo in order to process the potash that has been developed near the city . This construction project should be in cooperation u. a. with the German Thyssen Schachtbau GmbH .
