Langenrohr is a market town with 2,435 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Tulln district in Lower Austria .

geography

Langenrohr is located in the Tullnerfeld on the Große Tulln , only a few kilometers southwest of the city of Tulln in the main spatial planning region of " Lower Austria Central ". In terms of landscape, the district south of the Danube is assigned to the Mostviertel . The area of ​​the market town covers 22.57 square kilometers, 17.87 percent of which is forested. The Große Tulln runs through Langenrohr .

There were 82 non-agricultural workplaces in 2001, 78 agricultural and forestry businesses according to the 1999 survey. According to the 2001 census, the number of people in employment at the place of residence was 1010. The 2001 employment rate was 52.88 percent.

  • Tourism: Thanks to the Great Tulln, Langenrohr has a beautiful cycle path that runs towards Tulln. Even after the end of the river, you can continue cycling on the Danube to Vienna . There are also several guest rooms and pensions along the Langenrohrs Danube Cycle Path, as well as numerous smaller restaurants and Heuriger . There is also a special “Radlertreff” specially for cyclists. You can also fish very well in Langenrohr.

Sports

Langenrohr is home to the Langenrohr sports club, the Langenrohr Yacht Club (YCL), a bowling club, a darts sports club and the Langenrohr UTC. There is also a group of marksmen and fishermen.

  • SV Langenrohr : The SV Langenrohr football club is based in Langenrohr. The club was founded in 1947 and has played in the 1. NÖN Landesliga , the fourth highest league in Austria , since 1993 . The Langenrohr sports club has been in this league for more than 20 years, which puts it in first place in the "Eternal Table" with 566 games played, 885 points and 942 goals scored, ahead of SC Retz and SV Leobendorf (status: End of season 2013). The sports field in Langenrohr was officially opened on July 4th, 1998, one week before the anniversary celebration of “50 years of SVL”. Langenrohr took part in the ÖFB Cup several times . In the 2005/06 season they failed in the second round with a 4-5 defeat at SK Sturm Graz . The SVL women's team plays in the AKNÖ women's regional league .
