Kuatnana ( Indonesian Kuatnana ) is an Indonesian district ( Kecamatan ) in the west of the island of Timor .

The district is located in the center of the administrative district of South Central Timor (Timor Tengah Selatan) in the province of East Nusa Tenggara (Nusa Tenggara Timur) . In the southwest lies the district of Noebeba and West Amanuban (Amanuban Barat) , in the west Kota Soe and South Molo (Molo Selatan) , in the northwest Central Molo (Molo Tengah) , in the north Oenino , in the east Central Amanuban (Amanuban Tengah) and in the south Kuan Fatu .

Kuatnana has an area of ​​141.22 km² and is divided into the eight Desa Lakat , Supul , Tetaf , Enoneontes , Naukae , O'of , Tubmonas and Oe'ue . The Desas are again divided into a total of 25 Dusun (sub-villages). The administrative headquarters are in Tetaf. The district lies at an altitude of 548  m (O'of) and 857  m (Tetaf). As in Timor, the tropical climate is divided into a rainy and a dry season . In 2017 it rained in the district only on 80 days between January and June. A total amount of precipitation of 859 mm was measured.

Residents

In 2017, Kuatnana had 15,883 residents in 3,859 households. 7,958 were men, 7,925 women. The population density was 112 people per square kilometer. There were seven Catholic and 44 Protestant churches and chapels in the district.

Economy, infrastructure and transport

Most of the district's residents make a living from agriculture. Cattle (8,630), pigs (12.48), goats (865) and chickens (14,060) are kept as pets. Corn is grown on 2,540 hectares, rice on 152 hectares, cassava on 410 hectares and peanuts on 118 hectares. Other agricultural products include onions, cabbage, tomatoes, beans, cucumbers, avocados, mangoes, tangerines, papayas, bananas and sirsak. Plantations are light nuts , coconuts, tamarind, cashew nuts, kapok, Arecanüsse, betel nuts and coffee.

There are 18 elementary schools, five middle schools, and two secondary schools in Kuatnana. A community health center ( Puskesmas ), three medical care centers ( Puskesmas Pembantu ) and five midwifery centers ( Polindes ) are available for medical care . There is a doctor, 20 midwives and 14 nurses in the district.

ASPAL kilometers of roads are paved. KERIKEL kilometers of roads are covered with gravel. Simple clay slopes in the district have a length of TANAH kilometers. Public transport is operated by MIKROLET minibuses, PICKUP pick ups, TRUK trucks, BIS buses, OJEKMOTOR motorcycles and other LAINYA vehicles.
