State election in Tyrol in 1984
The regional elections in Tyrol in 1984 took place on June 17, 1984. The Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) was able to achieve slight profits and won one in addition to its previous 24 mandates. The ÖVP thus achieved the best election result since the state elections in 1945 . The Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ), on the other hand, lost votes for the third time in a row and lost a mandate to the ÖVP. The Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) also lost votes, but was able to keep its two mandates. The SPÖ provided 9 mandataries in the new state parliament. The Communist Party of Austria (KPÖ), the List for Another Tyrol (LAT), a joint list of Alternative List Austria and United Greens Austria , and The Greens Austria (DGÖ) failed to enter the state parliament, although the DGÖ list did not had run in the constituencies West and East.
In 1984 403,881 people were entitled to vote in the state elections, which meant an increase in the number of people entitled to vote by 32,506 people. In contrast, voter turnout had fallen from 90.58% in 1979 to 88.77%.

Effects
The deputies of the 10th legislative period were sworn in on July 10, 1984. They then elected the members of the Wallnöfer VI state government . It was followed in 1987 by the Partl I state government .
