Lange Schatten is the 13th studio album by German singer Peter Maffay . The double album was released by Teldec in 1988 .

Emergence

Maffay wrote the music for many of the songs himself, and on some pieces he also worked with external songwriters such as Tony Carey . Jörg von Schenckendorff , Burkhard Brozat , Andreas Magiera , Gregor Rottschalk , Peter Zentner and Annette Hopfenmüller (title song) wrote the lyrics. Maffay was able to win numerous well-known musicians for his album: Bass played Steffi Stephan , drums Bertram Engel , guitar Carl Carlton and Frank Diez , Pascal Kravetz on the organ, Jean-Jacques Kravetz on the piano and synthesizer . Bobby Stern , Eddie Taylor and Thomas Zoller played the saxophone . John Mayall played the harmonica for You're Never the Cashier , Tony Carey can also be heard on the instrument. Lydie Auvray played the accordion with Wolves . Chris Thompson sang along on four songs. The record was produced by Nigel Jobson and Peter Wagner .

The album was released by Teldec in early 1988. In 2018, Sony Music released an expanded and revised new edition, the 30th Anniversary Edition.

Awards for music sales
