Lee County is a county in the state of Alabama in the United States . The county seat is in Opelika .

history

Lee County was formed from Macon Counties and Russell Counties on December 5, 1866 , and named in honor of Robert E. Lee .

Lee County's population was 115,092 as of the 2000 census . 4,467 of these people lived in collective accommodation, the other residents lived in 45,702 households and 27,284 families. The population density was 73 inhabitants per square kilometer.
