Leonie Rainer (born December 25, 1989 in Münster ) is a German actress .
Life
Origin and education
Rainer was born as the middle of three sisters in Münster, where she also grew up. She gained her first acting experience at the age of 14 in an improvisational theater ensemble, with which she regularly appeared on stage during her high school years.
An intercultural music theater project brought the 18-year-old to Bolivia , where she developed a music theater piece with Bolivian and German youth that was performed in Bolivia and Germany.
After graduating from high school , she studied drama from 2010 to 2014 at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media .
Movie and TV
During her acting studies, Rainer was seen in her first roles on the stage of the State Theater in Hanover and in her first short and television films.
Rainer made her television debut in 2012 under the direction of Niki Stein in the lavishly produced ZDF drama Der Tote im Eis , u. a. alongside Manfred Zapatka , Merlin Rose and Ulrich Gebauer , followed by a historical film role as Princess Victoria Louise of Prussia in the ARD - docudrama 1913 - The last dance of the Emperor (Director: Florian Huber ). In the summer of 2014, Rainer received her acting diploma and then began a one-year permanent engagement at the Marburg Theater . In order to have more time for filming, Rainer ended her involvement in the theater festival in summer 2015 and moved to Berlin . Since then, Rainer has appeared in various film and television roles.
She premiered at the international Hof Film Festival in 2017 with the leading role in ALOHA as the daughter of Deborah Kaufmann and Uwe Bohm . Hamburg Media School graduate Charlotte A. Rolfes directed. ALOHA was received positively by the public and was also shown at international film festivals.
Together with student Oscar winner director Elmar Imanov , Rainer shot a teaser of his new film in Warsaw in the lead role Agata in 2017 .
Also in 2017, Rainer played leading episode roles in the ARD and ZDF crime stories Nord on Nordwest (director: Felix Herzogenrath), last trace Berlin (director: Christoph Stark ) and SOKO Leipzig (director: Robert del Maestro).
