Lipowa Góra ( German  Lindenberg ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Reszel ( urban and rural community Rößel ) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ).

Geographical location

Lipowa Góra is located in the northern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , two kilometers south of the former district town of Rößel ( Reszel in Polish ) and 15 kilometers southwest of today's district metropolis Kętrzyn ( German Rastenburg ).

history

Today's hamlet ( Osada in Polish ) was built before 1858 as a large farm under the name Abbau Lingenau and was a residential area within the rural community of Robawen (1938 to 1945 Robaben , Polish Robawy ). On August 13, 1858 it was officially stated: The name LINDENBERG has been added to the establishment newly built by the landowner Joseph Lingenau within the limits of the village of Robawen, without changing anything in the previous communal, police and other circumstances . About the mother church Lindenberg belonged until 1945 to the county Rößel in Administrative district Königsberg (1905: Administrative district Allenstein ) in the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1885 the place had 47, in 1905 only 21 inhabitants.

As a result of the war, Lindenberg came to Poland with all of southern East Prussia in 1945 and received the Polish name form "Lipora Góra". Today it is a place in the network of the urban and rural community Reszel (Rößel) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

church

Until 1945 Lindenberg was parish in the Protestant Church of Rößel in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic parish of Rößel in the then diocese of Warmia .

On the Catholic side, the reference to Reszel still exists today, with the parish now belonging to the Archdiocese of Warmia in the Polish Catholic Church . The Protestant church members orient themselves towards the parish church of Kętrzyn in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

traffic

Lipowa Góra is located southwest of Voivodeship Road 594 and can be reached via a spur road that branches off from DW 594 south of Robawy . There is no train connection.
