Lisková (Hungarian Liszkófalu ) is a municipality in the Okres Ružomberok within the Žilinský kraj in Slovakia with about 2100 inhabitants.
The municipality is located in the far west of the Podtatranská kotlina (Lower Tatra Basin ) under the Chočské vrchy Mountains , directly below the Veľký Choč ( 1611 m nm ). South of Lisková are the mouths of several streams with the Waag . The place is only five kilometers east of the town of Ružomberok . There is a cave and the natural formation Skalná päsť (rock fist) by the village.
The place originated in the 12th century and was first mentioned in a document in 1252. The name is said to be derived from the founder, a lowly nobleman named Liska. The village belonged to the Likavka Castle estate and was predominantly agricultural. In 1885 a devastating fire broke out in the community, killing 119 houses. The inhabitants took part in the Slovak National Uprising in 1944 , which is why 23 inhabitants were shot by the German Wehrmacht on February 2, 1945 .
Lisková is the birthplace of Vavro Šrobár , a Slovak politician.
