Liptovská Osada (until 1927 in Slovak "Osada"; in Hungarian Oszada ) is a municipality in central Slovakia . It is located at the confluence of the Revúca and Korytnica streams in the Korytnická dolina valley at the foot of the Great Fatra and Low Tatras , about 16 km from Ružomberok and 40 km from Banská Bystrica .
The area of today's municipality was first mentioned in 1288, but the actual place was only founded as part of the Goral colonization in 1649. Liptovská Osada had a stop on the narrow-gauge railway Ružomberok-Korytnica .
In addition to the main town, the municipality also includes the health resort Korytnica-kúpele .
