Štiavnička (Hungarian Kisselmec ) is a municipality in northern central Slovakia with 877 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which belongs to the Okres Ružomberok , a district of the Žilinský kraj and is part of the traditional Liptov region .
geography
The village is located in the western part of the Podtatranská kotlina basin , at the confluence of the Štiavnička brook with the Váh . The center of the village is at an altitude of 513 m nm and is five kilometers from the city center of Ružomberok .
Neighboring towns are Ružomberok in the west, Lisková in the north and northeast, Liptovská Štiavnica in the southeast and south and Ludrová in the southwest.
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1505 as Kysstzewnycza and was probably built around 1400 on what was then the area of the neighboring village Liptovská Štiavnica . It belonged to the local nobles and was also inhabited by them. In 1828 there are 37 houses and 256 inhabitants.
