Ivachnová (Hungarian Ivachnófalu ) is a municipality in northern central Slovakia with 655 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which belongs to the Okres Ružomberok , a district of the Žilinský kraj and is part of the traditional Liptov region .
geography
The village is located in the western part of the Podtatranská kotlina basin on the left bank of the Váh . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 503 m nm and is ten kilometers from Ružomberok and 16 kilometers from Liptovský Mikuláš .
history
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1298.
1924–1955 the place Liptovský Michal (then still Svätý Michal ) was part of the municipality. 1976–1989 Ivachnová was itself part of Liptovská Teplá .
