List of members of the provisional municipal council of the City of Vienna (1918–1919)
This list of members of the provisional council of the city of Vienna (1918-1919) lists the 165 members of the council of Vienna from December 1918 to May 1919.
Since the curial suffrage , which was still valid in Vienna in the last pre-war election in 1912, only brought ten Social Democrats to the municipal council, on the other hand 135 Christian Socials and 20 German Liberals, after the founding of the Republic in 1918 until the municipal council election in 1919, the old municipal council was changed by party agreement: The Christian Socials had now 84 of the 165 seats to be filled, the Social Democrats 60, the Freedom-Citizens 17, the Democrats 3, the German Nationals 2. The seats were filled without an election, as the old suffrage was obsolete and the new, democratic one did not yet exist.
