List of organs in Lübeck

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list of organs in Lübeck includes all preserved pipe organs of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck .

There are over 80 organs in the city, a dozen of which are more than 100 years old. The large and small organs in the Jakobikirche are world-famous, and some of their pipe stock dates from the late Gothic period (1460s). In addition to three small baroque organs from the 18th century, some instruments from the German-Romantic era have been preserved. About 15 instruments go back to the Lübeck-based company Kemper & Sohn , seven to Klaus Becker , and EF Walcker & Cie. six and five works each on Marcussen & Søn and Hinrich Otto Paschen . The organs are found in churches, chapels, hospitals, concert halls, the university and the Vorwerker Diakonie or are privately owned. The Musikhochschule Lübeck has ten instruments.

In the fifth column, the Roman number denotes the number of manuals , a capital "P" denotes an independent pedal , a small "p" denotes an attached pedal and the Arabic number in the penultimate column denotes the number of sounding registers .
