List of organs in the district of Leer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list of organs in the district of Leer includes all preserved organs in the district of Leer ( East Friesland ). It is a supplement to the main article Organ Landscape Ostfriesland , in which further literature can be found.

There are 110 pipe organs in the district, 45 of which are more than 100 years old. The oldest pipe material is in the organ of the Great Church in Leer and goes back to an instrument by Marten de Mare from 1609. The largest organ in the district is located in the neighboring Luther Church with 39  registers . It is a new building by Jürgen Ahrend from Leer-Loga , who created eleven new buildings in the district, together with Gerhard Brunzema until 1971 . The Alfred Führer company from Wilhelmshaven built most of the organs in this area with more than 20 new buildings. The new buildings were built between the 1950s and 1980s. The company also restored some historical instruments during this period.

The main builders are given in the fourth column; Cooperation between several organ builders is indicated by a slash, later modifications by commas. In the sixth column, the Roman number indicates the number of manuals , a capital "P" indicates an independent pedal , a lower-case "p" indicates an attached pedal, and the Arabic number indicates the number of sounding registers . The penultimate column lists the last major restoration.
