List of stumbling blocks in Zerbst / Anhalt

The list of stumbling blocks in Zerbst / Anhalt contains all stumbling blocks that were laid by Gunter Demnig in Zerbst / Anhalt as part of the art project of the same name . They are intended to commemorate the victims of National Socialism who lived and worked in Zerbst. Between 2010 and 2011, a total of 40 stones were laid at 13 addresses.

Martha Leiser came from Zerbst. She was deported from Magdeburg on December 2, 1942 to the Theresienstadt ghetto , where she died on December 22, 1942.

Martin Leiser was born in Grätz . He was deported from Magdeburg on December 2, 1942 to the Theresienstadt ghetto, where he died on March 24, 1943.

October 14, 2011 Benno Marcus (1885–1942)

Benno Marcus came from Heinrichsdorf in West Prussia . He later moved to Zerbst and finally to Berlin . From there he was deported to the Riga ghetto on August 15, 1942 and murdered three days later.

October 14, 2011 Eugen Borinski (1875–1944)

Eugen Borinski was born in Zabrze . He later lived in Zerbst and Wittenberg . On December 2, 1942, he was deported from Magdeburg to the Theresienstadt ghetto and on to Auschwitz on May 16, 1944 , where he was murdered.

Julie Borinski came from Seeburg . She later lived in Zerbst and Wittenberg. She was deported from Magdeburg to the Theresienstadt ghetto on December 2, 1942, and on to Auschwitz on May 16, 1944, where she was murdered.

March 29, 2010 Max Rosenstiel (1884 – approx. 1942)

Max Rosenstiel came from Ziesar . In 1936 he was able to emigrate to France via Spain . After the German occupation he was interned in Gurs in 1941 and later in Drancy . From there he was deported to Auschwitz on August 28, 1942 and murdered. His exact date of death is unknown.

Leopold Spier came from Merzhausen . He was deported from Magdeburg on December 2, 1942 to the Theresienstadt ghetto, where he died on May 30, 1943.

Recha Spier was born in Lichtenau . On April 14, 1942, she was deported from Magdeburg to the Warsaw Ghetto. Her further fate is unknown.

March 29, 2010 Margarete Schlesinger (1904 – approx. 1942)

Margarete Schlesinger was born in Zerbst and later lived in Berlin. There she was temporarily imprisoned in the prison on Alexanderplatz and was deported on August 20, 1941, first to the Ravensbrück concentration camp and then to Auschwitz on November 29, 1942, where she was murdered.

Rosa Schlesinger came from Großalsleben. She was deported from Magdeburg on December 2, 1942 to the Theresienstadt ghetto, where she died on March 5, 1944.

Willy Schlesinger came from Köhten. He was deported from Magdeburg on December 2, 1942 to the Theresienstadt ghetto, where he died on April 17, 1943.
