With the construction of the reservoir (1938/40) below the bridge, the course of the river was regulated in 1947. Since then, the bridge has spanned the Sohlander Dorfbach. The slender parabolic stone arch consists of roughly hewn (hammer right) granidorite stones from local sites. In the front walls you can see irregular layered masonry made of almost uncut stones. The front walls are drawn across the sidewalk as low plinths that serve as a curb and framed by large-format, roughly hewn cover plates. Light steel railings, possibly later attached, are attached to the curbs. The arch has a clear width of 10.25 m and a (visible) stitch height of 2.40 m. In the apex area its width is 2.25 m and the thickness 0.65 m in the visible area. The bridge length including the ramps is 20.70 m. The Schrammborde limit a walkway width of 1.75 m. The bridge crosses a sidewalk and goes under the village stream. " |

Totality of Royal Saxon Triangulation ("European degree measurement in the Kingdom of Saxony"); Station 45 Taubenberg | (on the Taubenberg, south of the village) (map) |
Marked 1865 | Triangulation stone, 2nd order station; important testimony to geodesy of the 19th century, significant from the point of view of surveying history, draft by Friedrich Robert Helmert. Inscription "Station / TAUBENBERG / der / Kön: Sächs: / Triangulierung / 1865." Material Granite from Taubenberg.
The Taubenberg is a relatively insignificant elevation in the Lausitzer Bergland east of Sohland ad Spree not far from the border with the Czech Republic. But it was an important position near the border for the network configuration. The landowner was a manor v. Nostitz and Jankendorf on Taubenheim. The building permit was issued in a letter dated June 24, 1865. The station consists of several granite blocks joined together. The transition to the underground markings is trapezoidal. The above-ground structure consists of six stone parts of different sizes and shapes, which are connected with mortar. It tapers towards the top. A cover plate is still available. In the second lower stone block, a horizontal height marking is carved on the east side. The height number 458.082 is stamped above this marking. The station lettering was applied to a raised rectangular surface with decorated corners and is in good condition. The strikingly high pillar is now surrounded by high forest. This means that there are no longer any possibilities to see other stations. From 1862 to 1890 a land survey was carried out in the Kingdom of Saxony , in which two triangular networks were formed. On the one hand, there is the network for grade measurement in the Kingdom of Saxony (network I. class / order) with 36 points and the royal Saxon triangulation (network II. Class / order) with 122 points. The surveying columns set for this purpose remained almost entirely in their original locations. They are an impressive testimony to the history of land surveying in Germany and in Saxony. The system of surveying columns of both orders is in its entirety a cultural monument of supraregional importance (source: A search for traces, historical surveying columns in Saxony, publisher: Interest group Nagelsche Säulen and Staatsbetrieb Geobasisinformation und Vermessung Sachsen, SEW-Verlags GbR, May 2012). |
