Triangulation column, 2nd order station
Triangulation column, 2nd order station in front of Crostaer Straße 12a
(map)
1865 Totality of the Royal Saxon Triangulation ("European degree measurement in the Kingdom of Saxony"), station 48 Großdubrau, of significance in terms of technology history:

The column originally erected outside the village is located about 140 m east of the current center. The nail column in Großdubrau has been preserved but is very difficult to access. It is surrounded by a hedge so that the inscription is illegible and visual connections to the neighboring locations are no longer possible. The inscription reads: "Station / GROSSDUBRAU / derKön: Sächs: / Triangulirung / 1865." The sign "Δ" is carved on the back. The pillar made of Nadelwitz granite stands on a square floor plan. The base is uncut, followed by a flat ledge and a profiled cover plate. The height is 1.90 m above the ground.

In the period from 1862 to 1890, a land survey was carried out in the Kingdom of Saxony, in which two triangular networks were formed. On the one hand, there is the network for grade measurement in the Kingdom of Saxony (network I. class / order) with 36 points and the royal Saxon triangulation (network II. Class / order) with 122 points. This national survey was led by Christian August Nagel , according to which the triangulation columns are also referred to as "Nagelsche columns". This surveying system was one of the most modern layer networks in Germany. The surveying columns set for this purpose remained almost entirely in their original locations. They are an impressive testimony to the history of land surveying in Germany and in Saxony. The system of surveying columns of both orders is in its entirety a cultural monument of supraregional importance.

Water tower
Water tower Richard-Reinecke-Strasse, corner of Karl-Marx-Strasse
(map)
Marked 1926 on the weather vane Natural stone-facing base storey, divided into three and a half storeys by cornices, of importance in terms of building history, local history and supply history. The water tower was built in 1926 in the northern part of Großdubraus. At this time, Großdubrau experienced a strong population growth as a result of the flourishing Margarethenhütte, one of the world's leading producers of electrical ceramics, which made a fundamental expansion of the local water supply network necessary. The octagonal tower is characterized by its high natural stone base made of granite, above which the lightly framed tower shaft made of plastered brickwork tapers to the container floor, which protrudes over a strong cornice and is closed off by a tiled tent roof. Belt cornices separate the three tower floors from each other, the interior of the tower is illuminated via pointed arch windows, the orientation of which changes floor by floor. The motif of the entrance portal, a pointed arch over an accentuated, slightly flared lintel, is repeated on the windows of the second floor. Inside, a reinforced concrete staircase that runs along the outer wall opens up the floors, with the help of a ladder you can get to the top floor through the middle of the water tank. Accordingly, the triangular windows on the container floor are only designed as indicated openings (blind windows). The roof is equipped with four triangular dormer windows and is crowned by a weather vane on which the year of construction 1926 can be read. As a testimony to the development of the communal water supply at the beginning of the 20th century, the water tower is of importance in terms of supply and local history. Its architecturally balanced, reduced design language in the style of the 1920s makes it valuable in terms of building history. 09253007

1719 Individual monument of the totality of the Rittergut Sdier (see also totality document Obj. 09300451); Erected in place of a previous building, this presumably built as a moated castle, therefore a moat that still exists today, of architectural and local significance.

Stately, already castle-like, massive building, two-story with mansard roof, bat dormers, lintel with keystone, roof turret, formerly recorded under Bremer Straße 1. Building erected by the cathedral chapter of Bautzen in 1719 in place of a previous building, which the nobility had sold to the church in 1562. It is unclear whether it was the late medieval moated castle, but a moat around the building in question still heralds its existence. So here we are not talking about a mansion of the nobility, but like such a core building of the place - both in a historical and structural sense. Comparable to contemporary mansions in East Saxony in terms of shape and material. The deep cubature of the two-story, massive plastered building and the squat, half-hipped roof indicate that it is of high importance as a baroque building, supported by a roof turret, but with its bell function, it also refers to a sacred background. On the upper floor there is a small chapel, the furnishings of which are partly older than the building itself, a rarity because only a few such moated castles have survived in Saxony.

Stately two-storey baroque building, erected in 1719 in place of a moated castle. Half-hip roof with bat dormers and modified roof turrets.

Four- and two-storey, massive building with horizontal windows and ceramic mosaics typical of the time, flight roof, bridge to the round recirculator building also decorated with mosaics, another building with high wall resolution through reinforced concrete construction, more conservative building with a flat gable roof (renovated). 09250257

Detailed memorial texts

  1. Dehio-Handbuch der Deutschen Kunstdenkmäler / Sachsen Volume 1:

Evangelical Parish Church of Klix. Stately neo-Romanesque hall church, built in 1893 according to plans by Theodor Quentin, baroque west tower from the previous building from 1702, the hood changed in 1834. Restoration 1983–85.
Plastered building with square corners, recessed choir with a straight end and a two-story extension on the north side and a polygonal stair tower with a hood on the south side, the gable roof partially hipped. Generous interior, effective due to the wood designs and the arrangement of the artistic fittings. The hall with a raised wooden ceiling divided into large fields, painted with tendrils and floral motifs. Single-storey wooden galleries on three sides with simple painting. Towards the choir a wide-spanned basket arch, the reveal painted with various leaf motifs. The choir is vaulted with a wooden arched barrel barrel, divided into fields, with a trough-shaped end in the east, painted with floral motifs.
Equipment from the previous building: Elaborate, partly gilded sandstone altar, assembled in this form in 1702, most elements 17th century. Predella with a representation of the Lord's Supper painted on the stone. The main panel with finely crafted, figure-rich alabaster reliefs with remains of colored paint in three registers, Crucifixion, Resurrection, Last Judgment, around 1580 in the manner of Christoph Walther II (1702 from the Sophienkirche, Dresden-Altstadt). Laterally fluted pilasters, next to them on consoles Peter and Paul. Finally, a trumpet angel between the pediments. Colored wooden pulpit, 1702, the polygonal basket with putti and lambrequins, the sound cover supported by two pillars also with lambrequins, crowned by richly carved acanthus tendrils and a figure of Johannes d. T. octagonal, marbled wooden baptism with a wide swinging cup, inscribed 1688. Owl organ with neo-Renaissance prospect, 1893.
Numerous elaborate tombs: Finely crafted, colored epitaph made of wood for Franz von Nostitz († 1576), restored 1989–94, the main panel from the Cranach school depicting the crucifixion, in the foreground the founder and his family. Elaborate framing with fluted pillars carried by consoles, on the cranked cornice putti hold a cartouche with the Nostitz coat of arms, above a female figure, on the side a praying woman and a Caritas. Sandstone monument of Johanna Eleonora von Nostitz († 1678), beautifully worked relief over a ruffled inscription cloth with a kneeling woman, who is handed a crown from the clouds, and two children in front of a crucifix, framed by two putti with palm branches and a ribbon . Strongly plastic, colored sandstone epitaph for Kaspar Christoph von Nostitz († 1709), above a tendril cartouche with a coat of arms, a broad font cartouche with tendrils and volutes, on the cornice sit two angels holding the round relief of the deceased. In a similar design, the colored sandstone epitaph of his wife Ursula Margareta von Nostitz († 1707), the large, tendril-adorned volutes of the central part are striking. Elaborate sandstone epitaph for Christoph Friedrich von Gersdorf († 1725), attributed to Johann Christian Kirchner, in front of a base with strong lambrequins two eagles with the family coat of arms, above a large plaque, framed by pilasters adorned with coats of arms, sideways moving figures, Fides and Caritas. In front of the richly profiled cornice a cartouche with a portrait, above between clouds angel heads and sun. Fama and Justitia sit on the cornices. In the tower hall the tomb of Franz von Nostitz († 1576), full-length relief of a knight, the helmet at his feet. Tomb of Ursula von Rodewitz (around 1600), praying female figure with cap, gathered coat and pleated dress.
