1733 Dendro Preserved largely unchanged, part of the original local development, of economic and particularly architectural significance, equipment of interest in terms of technology history and now of great rarity. Former four-sided courtyard, no longer recognizable as such due to extensions and two demolitions (including the boarded barn, demolition in 2012), limited to the east by a side building consisting of two parts of the house. This in turn consists of two parts: the northern part, presumably built between 1780 and 1840 as an extension of the southern part, massive ground floor, half-timbered upper storey, gable roof, southern part much older, ground floor framework largely replaced by quarry stone masonry, ground floor framework on the southern gable and upper-story framework with a cantilever Arcades suggest that it was built between 1650 and 1700, above it was a roof structure renewed in the 19th century with double chair, roof structure originally from the building period, probably with a central longitudinal structure, southern part of the building of particular historical importance, extraordinarily high document value and only slightly reduced by later renovations, arcades on side buildings Once more widespread in Saxony, now a rarity, due to the use of headbands on the cantilevered ceiling beams of the arcade from the ground floor framework, to be assessed as unique for the traditional building style of Saxony , in the upper floor of the northern part of the wood workshop with a historic band saw and lathe from the 19th century, as well as parts of the associated transmission and a wooden wind sweep (agricultural machine for cleaning grain, ie for separating the chaff from the grain). 09227955

2nd quarter of the 19th century (farm building); marked 1837 (prayer cross) Stable house upper floor timber-framed boarded up, side building quarry stone plastered, of architectural and local significance.
  • Former mansion painted as a monument because major structural changes have already affected the substance (ground floor windows enlarged, new openings broken into the masonry, upper floor windows on the backside concrete walls, ground floor windows on the backside granite walls, street side large garage entrance).
  • Residential stable house: original cubature, proportions and design details, quarry stone masonry with filling material (partly broken bricks) for gussets on the ground floor, upper floor half-timbered, boarded up, on the upper floor original windows with decorative framing (two-winged with transverse bars), inlaid decorative frame with "idiot" on the side, On the back there are also two windows with wooden shutters, a gable triangle with sun-motif boarding, on the back in the rear part of the building two elongated narrow openings (in the manner of loopholes), presumably for ventilation, widened in a funnel-shaped manner, elongated pikes over almost the entire width of the roof on both eaves sides of the roof , Roof skin renewed in 1874 (dating with blue glazed tiles contrasted with almost yellow tiles).
  • Another side building (stable-barn): this is also largely authentically preserved in terms of cubature, proportions and design features (unfortunately the rear part is partially demolished so that the gable wall is missing), strikingly elongated building, two-story solid construction, ground floor characterized by large wooden gates (two-winged), In the attic three bat dormers on the courtyard side and on the rear, beaver tail covering
  • Courtyard enclosure: of which several approx. 60 cm high granite posts with a few remaining wrought iron fence panels have been preserved.
  • Wayside shrine: wrought-iron cross with the figure of the crucified (three-nail type) placed on a granite base, on the vertical arm of the cross an inscription with the inscription: "The suffering and death of Jesus Christ in eternal times."
  • Demolition permit granted in 1999

Detailed memorial texts

  1. ^ Dehio - Handbook of German Art Monuments / Saxony Volume 1:

Cistercian Abbey Monastery of St. Marienstern. The most important surviving monastery complex in Saxony, which reflects the building history of Upper Lusatia since the 13th century. In 1248 the monastery was founded as a foundation by the brothers Bernhard and Heinrich von Kamenz. In 1259 the first monastery buildings were completed and in 1264 the economic existence was secured with the help of the donors to the extent that admission into the Cistercian order was possible. The overall supervision was in the hands of the abbot of Altzella (Nossen-Zella, Meißen-Radebeul district). In 1429, the Hussites set fire to the monastery, but the church remained largely undamaged. In 1639/40 the unrest of the Thirty Years' War forced the convent into exile in Poland, and on their return they found the monastery devastated. The baroque building activity under the abbesses Cordula Sommer (1710–46), Josepha Elger (1746–62) and Klara Trautmann (1762–82) changed the appearance of the church and the monastery buildings. The oldest surviving parts of the medieval complex are the church building, the cloister and the convent building to the east, as well as the gatehouse. The abbey south of the church on the cloister wing from 1687, as an extension of the old convent, 1731/32 construction of the new convent, expanded in 1878 by a southern extension, the novice house.

The monastery area surrounded by a wall is located in a depression on the southern edge of today's village, surrounded by the monastery water. Both the location and the internal structure with the convent buildings built around a cloister and the church as well as the surrounding farm buildings are characteristic of Cistercian monasteries.

Monastery church. Hall church, which defines the ensemble of monastery buildings with its high saddle roof. The oldest parts of the church in the area of the south wall from the middle of the 13th century. In a second phase, the hall was given its current form. After restorations, the interior shows the high Gothic architecture of the last third of the 13th century, which had undergone changes after the fires in 1429 and 1639. 1721 redesign of the west gable, restoration 1965–68 and 1993–95.
Exterior: Plastered quarry stone building with a hipped gable roof in the east and a straight east end, the finely structured roof turret from 1677. On the south and east side buttresses and Gothic tracery windows, the tracery in the central east window was reconstructed according to original shapes, on the north side the buttresses with spheres occupied. In 1721 by Zacharias Hoffmann from Bohemia, three-axis west facade, structured in the upper area by buttresses converted into pilasters, on which copies of the sandstone figures of St. Benedikt, Joseph, Johannes d. T. and Bernhard. The central axis raised by one storey, flanked by lateral bulges with volutes. In the gable the statue of the Salvator in a niche, above in the roof a star. The artistic jewelry from Georg Vater from Bautzen. The main entrance to the church was the vestibule with pillars and a cranked gable on the west facade.
Inside: The hall with a seven-bay central nave, the side aisles are narrower. The high ribbed vault on slender, octagonal pillars, the ribs develop from bag-shaped consoles. The lower part of the south aisle forms the north wing of the cloister, above it the choir lane as access to the nuns' choir, which occupies the two western bays of the central nave. The keystones of the suspended vault with high Gothic foliage and figurative decoration in the form of a pelican in the central nave and a man's head in the north aisle. In their design, they reveal relationships with the younger part of the eastern section of the e Meißner Dom (Meißen-Radebeul district). During the restoration 1965–68, the color design of the material change between brick (light red), granite (gray) and quarry stone (white) was renewed. In the gusset under the entrance to the nuns' gallery remains of Gothic, figural wall paintings, 15th century. The chairs of the nuns choir with carved arcades and painted representations of saints in arched arcades, 2nd half of the 17th century. On the masonry choir screen remains of wall paintings depicting parts of the life of Mary and the apostles, 2nd half of the 16th century.
