The water tower, built in 1894, stands on a hill at the southern entrance to Königsbrück as the last witness of the extensive area of the former Prince Georg barracks that was once adjoining there. The circular, red brick building in neo-Romanesque design shapes the landscape due to its elevated position. Structuring elements such as cornices and window frames are designed with accents in light sandstone. In the smooth plastered basement there is a slightly protruding round arched portal made of sandstone. Above, eight narrow arched windows and a stepped arched frieze, which leads to the container floor, structure the tower shaft. Here, too, regularly arranged, narrow arched windows and a final arched frieze. Upper end with a conical roof with four gable roof dormers and a spire. The tower with its technical equipment (loft container made of riveted steel sheets, 400 m³ capacity) has been preserved in the state of construction. Due to the fact that it is a testament to the location of the former barracks, it is of local and technological significance. |

Saxon post mile pillars (totality); Post mileage | Kamenzer Strasse (near Hospitalkirchhof) (map) |

The pillar considered here is of great importance in the history of traffic as part of the nationally significant postal system.
In 1722, the Electorate of Saxony began to erect the Saxon post-mile pillars. Elector Friedrich August I wanted to build a modern traffic and transport control system in the electorate in order to promote trade and economy. He entrusted Magister Adam Friedrich Zürner (1679 - 1742) with the implementation. The system of post mile pillars comprised distance pillars, quarter milestones, half and full mile pillars. The distance columns should be set up in the cities in front of the city gates, later only on the marketplaces. Quarter milestones, half and full mile pillars were set up along the Poststrasse. They received a consecutive numbering (row number), starting from the beginning of the measurement. The all-mile columns were set up outside the cities on the post roads at a distance of 1 mile (= 9.062 km). The distance pillars were marked with the monogram "AR" for "Augustus Rex", the Electoral Saxon and Polish-Lithuanian double coat of arms and the Polish royal crown. The full mile, half mile columns and quarter milestones were all similarly labeled, none of them had a coat of arms, but the monogram "AR". The distances were given in hours (1 hour = ½ post mile = 4.531 km). This mile system was the first European traffic management system. The pillar considered here is of great importance in the history of traffic as part of the nationally significant postal system. |

Greenhouse in the former castle nursery with three camellias (individual monument for ID No. 09301570) | Schloßberg 3 (map) |
Camellia around 1850 | Individual monument of the ensemble of Castle and Castle Park Königsbrück; Structurally, culturally and locally of importance. Greenhouse with a solid rear wall and small wall rings at ground level around the three camellias (two white, one red). Only the double red-flowering camellia (Althaeiflora) under protection, as a product of horticultural breeding of particular cultural-historical importance, monument due to its great age and rarity. No specific documentation exists for the acquisition of the varieties of camellias in Königsbrück. Camellia plants were advertised for sale by Schlossgärtner around 1892, so correspondingly large and old mother plants must have been available for growing cuttings. At this time, the Naumanns took over the class, who needed until World War I to make the castle habitable again. In the process, building rubble was filled in the greenhouse, among other things, with camellias being separated off with small walls (camellias do not tolerate lime). Proof that at that time correspondingly large camellias were already available, so Naumanns were not available for acquisition of camellias. Before Naumann's Counts von Wilding gentlemen in Königsbrück. It is known of them that they had run down the castle until it was uninhabitable, which is why extensive renovation work by the Naumanns was necessary. Probably no acquisition of camellias by the Count of Wilding. Their predecessors were Counts of Hohenthal (rulership of Königsbrück 1803-1856). This charitable and multifaceted active (establishment of the first Saxon savings bank in Königsbrück, establishment of the first children's facility in front of Fröbe Louisenstift Königsbrück, establishment of the Friedrichstadt hospital in Dresden, etc.), the introduction of camellias is conceivable. Entry in the church chronicle 1846 by the then senior pastor Kirsch that "... the camellia house in the castle was restored earlier as usual". At that time there was already a building called the camellia house, which was obviously being restored for winter operation. Such a camellia house not for small potted plants, but larger specimens. Camellias probably acquired during the time of the rulership of the Counts of Hohenthal in Königsbrück, age about 160 years (first mentioned) or possibly 170–180 years (heyday of the rule of the von Hohenthal from 1820–1830). |

Raid weir with medium protection system with weir bodies and firing floor | (at the former Grünmetzmühle; Stenz district , parcel 581) (map) |
17th century (location, various previous buildings); early 1920s (weir) | Weir body and front wall of the firing floor clad with large blocks of natural stone, historical, here above all local and technical historical importance as well as landscape-defining value, since the location of the weir system, including its predecessor buildings with a similar purpose, has been proven to have existed since the 17th century and the building was the last relic of regulation documented the water supply for the Grünmetzmühle via its own mill ditch. The weir was demolished in April 2016.
The weir was probably built in the early 1920s due to its design features, and was characterized by massive defensive structures, which, like the front wall of the firing floor, were also clad with large natural stone blocks. Lowering of the firing floor probably in the 1950s while maintaining the functionality and design of the technical system. Wehr was one of the Pulsnitz dams, had existed as a weir system at this location with various predecessor buildings for over 400 years, and was used to regulate the water supply for the former green butcher's mill via its own moat. It was the last testimony of the mill since the latter was torn down in 2003 and the mill ditch was removed, so it was memorable for the entire complex and its long history. |

↑ Description and justification of the garden monument Villa Papst (Ragnhild Kober-Carrière, 2014):
The large garden, located on the northern outskirts of the city, on terrain that rises slightly to the north, offers a wide view of the city and landscape of Kamenz (!). The relatively small villa is in the middle of the garden. From the street (west) a straight, wide, concrete paved driveway and an equally paved narrow footpath, separated from each other by a plant strip, lead to the villa and garage. To the left of the road there are rhododendrons on the property boundary. The villa is structurally connected to the garage by a wall with eight arched passages, so that a small courtyard open to the north is created in the east of the villa. A wide, elongated terrace with a retaining wall extends on the south side of the villa. The garden is reached from the terrace via a staircase with two flights of stairs. In the axis of these stairs, the path axis leading with stepping stones over a lawn extends to the south. The area sloping down to the south is terraced by two parallel dry stone walls. There is a staircase on each of these walls in the aforementioned axis of the path. Creeping junipers occupying large areas spread over the walls and terraces. At the end of the path there is a beech tree on the left and a little further to the right a multi-stemmed sweet chestnut. Paths continue to the right and left of the southern property line and up again in the west and east of the garden. The garden is surrounded by wide cut hedges (hornbeam, linden). Lone standing conifers and groups of conifers accentuate the garden. A lookout point, intercepted by retaining walls, forms the end of the long retaining wall of the house terrace in the east. To the west this wall runs out in a long arc into the lawn. In the south-west corner of the garden, on Hoyerswerdaer Straße, there is a small, quarter-circle garden space with a stone bench, two hanging birches and ornamental trees, separated by a hornbeam with an arched gate. To the east of the house and the garage is a large kitchen garden area, a small part of which is used by vegetable patches. In the north, another area extends to the edge of the forest. Here in the bathing garden there is an elongated, restored water basin in a rectangular lawn that is shaded by birch trees. This is followed by a small jump in terrain and the orchard. The supposedly economical, simple design and spaciousness of the large garden area is its special quality. The garden is an outstanding example of the new conception of gardening in the modern era, with a supraregional importance in terms of garden history and garden art. -
↑ Description and justification of the garden monument Hoyerswerdaer Straße 33 (Ragnhild Kober-Carrière, 2014):
Due to the size of the property and the preserved woody stock, it can be assumed that the former hospital of the royal family Königsbrück will have a park-like hospital garden and possibly also an orchard and Owned vegetable garden. What has been preserved is the enclosure wall, which was probably built after 1900 and, due to the rising street, is stepped in the shape of a staircase (plastered brickwork with red clinker decorative edges and concrete cover and pillars) with gate pillars. The driveway leading straight from the east to the front gable of the villa is cut into the terrain near the wall and flanked by two oaks in front of the villa. Another straight driveway ran from north to south to the building (measuring table sheet from 1904). A row of beech trees and a linden tree stand on the southern border. Two sycamore maples are equidistant to the right and left of the north gable. Other old trees (Norway maple, chestnut, linden, robinia, hornbeam, sycamore maple, ash) are located in the northeast of the building. Two linden trees on the enclosure wall and a pyramid oak should also be emphasized. The courtyard area between the two buildings is paved with large stone paving (granite, gray). A soil modeling can be seen. There are traces of a system of paths in the ground. The exposed location of the property offers a wide view to the west, which is taken into account by the elevated balcony that has been drawn into the facade of the villa. The exposed location and the remains of the garden elements (wood, path system in the ground, ground relief, fencing, courtyard paving) testify to a 170 year old and partly younger garden. In connection with the buildings and the area that has been preserved, as well as the background to the history of the property as a hospital garden, the remains of the garden are of historical value. Due to the largely destroyed area, the garden is assessed as an ancillary facility belonging only to the house. -

↑ Description and justification of the Königsbrück palace garden monument (2014):
The gardens and parks of the Königsbrück palace, which were created in several phases, today show an impressive baroque terrace complex with former kitchen and ornamental gardens as well as landscaped garden areas in the plain and remnants of landscaped garden areas (woody stock and ornamental fountain) in the south of the castle building also on a terrace area. On the left side of the Pulsnitz a landscape park stretches along in a wide arc, both in the plain and in the slope area. It is characterized by valuable old trees, paths that swing up and down, small viewpoints and a multitude of views to the palace complex opposite. The castle facade, framed by old linden trees, is impressive, the view of which opens up when entering the castle courtyard. A ramp leads to the terrace in front of the castle. The terraces of the palace area can be reached via a path that swings to the right or to the left. Three preserved camellias, which are over 180 years old and are in a greenhouse on the former gardening site, still bear witness to the once extensive, valuable orangery inventory. The orangery in the south of the old castle courtyard, several former greenhouses and the orangery building still preserved today in the south of the farmyard give evidence of richly decorated castle terraces, pleasure gardens and possibly a former orangery ground floor. It can still be assumed that the terrace walls were used for espalier fruit. The east-facing terraces were ideal for orchards. The landscape below the terraces is characterized by a hill with a group of conifers. Remnants of a landscape route, a seat with two granite benches and a small octagonal sandstone fountain and a sandstone plinth are located here in the castle park near the banks of the Pulsnitz. A bird bath with the year 1919 at the foot of a staircase gives an indication of the design phase under Dr. Walter Naumann. In the courtyard of the old castle is a large sandstone water basin with a base area of approx. 6 m × 3 m. Sandstone staircases open up the baroque terraces. In the landscaped areas, stairs made of granite steps can be found. A bridge over the Pulsnitz, which connected the two parts of the park to the left and right of the Pulsnitz, is closed. The palace complex on Dresdener Strasse is bounded by a retaining wall and a park wall with a gate. A plaque with the inscription “Johanna Margaretha Freyfrau von Schellendorf geb. Graefin von Friesen 1703 ”, which is located on one of the terrace walls, gives an indication of the layout of the baroque pleasure and kitchen gardens. The overwhelming terraces of the palace alone could account for the supraregional garden history and garden artistic value of the gardens of the Königsbrück palace. In combination with the extensive landscape park on both sides of the Pulsnitz, this baroque complex is enhanced many times over. In particular, the reciprocal visual relationships and the castle and garden images that are repeatedly staged in the scene give the overall facility a unique effect. The garden and park are to be addressed in connection with the palace complex as a total work of art. The Mühlgraben flowing through the garden with its terracing, over which the paths lead, is a design element of exceptional value for the castle park. The three almost 200-year-old camellias and the 80 to 100-year-old camellias in the central bed of the orangery are of supraregional historical plant culture value. The landscape park on both sides of the Pulsnitz and especially in the slope area has a landscape design significance with the preserved trees and path system. -

↑ Description and justification of the garden monument Gutspark Röhrsdorf (2014):
The manor park, which is surrounded by a quarry stone wall on a rectangular floor plan, is largely preserved in its 1802 (Meilenblatt, Berlin copy) verifiable basic structure. In 1946 the castle, which had been badly damaged by an explosion, was torn down. Therefore, there is no connection to the garden structure aligned with the castle. In the area of the manor house, a festival meadow with a park stage and a stand hall with sanitary facilities as well as an asymmetrical path and square area near the stage was built. The regularly landscaped parts of the garden that are preserved today determine the manor park. A circular linden tree (six of what used to be eight trees) forms the intersection of the garden's cross and longitudinal axis. The transverse axis (starting from the former castle in the north) is aligned in the south with an elevated octagonal pavilion (stairs, cheeks and slabs made of sandstone) on the south wall. A ground floor area with lime tree avenues on both sides (partly preserved) was related to the manor house in the north. A short section of avenue leads to the pavilion. The tree-lined avenue that characterizes the garden today as an east-west axis (high proportion of hornbeams) emerges from the former path axis, with lateral hedges that separated the northern and southern part of the garden (see Meilenblatt 1802). This avenue leads to the east gate and is continued outside the enclosure wall by an old linden avenue radiating far into the landscape. In the south of this garden axis there is a regular garden that can still be seen today, the entrance to which is marked by two gate pillars with vase attachments in the east. In the longitudinal axis of this part of the garden there is a baroque aha on the eastern enclosure wall, which allows a view of the surrounding landscape from an elevated position. The landscape overprinting of the garden can be seen in the landscape (old trees and curved paths), which run along the enclosure wall in the southeast, east and north. Two oaks and a sweet chestnut should be emphasized as solitary trees. An elevated viewing point (curiosity) with ash is located in the northeast corner of the estate park. Two renovated gates are to be installed in the north wall (near the former manor house), a gate in the west wall (pillar with a sandstone vase, in the longitudinal axis of the regular garden section) and the aforementioned gate in the east wall. A memorial stone with the inscription: “J. Bettenhausen ”stands in the back of the estate park, a water trough with the letter and the year“ Æ 1846 ”on the estate. In the simple, baroque basic structure that can still be read today and in the landscaped areas that were added later, the manor park bears witness to two of the design phases of the 18th and 19th centuries that shaped it. The old, baroque avenue of lime trees, which radiates far into the landscape, is a rarity. Further remnants of avenues lie in the west (row of linden trees) and south (Kastanienallee) outside the park. They are also to be classified as valuable elements that define the landscape and the townscape. The entire complex with the preserved manor buildings, the enclosure wall and the clearly legible parts of the manor park has building and gardening and local historical significance. The avenues have a landscape design significance.
