Ralbitz Cemetery (aggregate) | Main street (map) |

Total elements in the totality: cemetery wall, grave complex with numerous wooden crosses painted white in an even arrangement. Cemetery characterized by numerous, evenly arranged, white painted wooden crosses as a uniform system and testimony to the maintenance of Sorbian tradition, crosses with ornamentally designed decorative motifs, predominantly Sorbian inscriptions on oval panels on the vertical cross staff and a small figure of the crucified above the inscription panel, "Cemetery of white wooden crosses", follows the philosophy: No matter how different people's lives may be, in death everyone is the same. Regardless of status, financial possibilities and earthly sensitivities, graves are all designed according to uniform principles. It is precisely this arrangement and the Sorbian mourning color white and the material of the ephemeral “dead wood” that exudes dignity, calm and hope. Tradition can be traced back to the beginning of the 19th century. Wooden crosses with a golden body were made by Ralbitz carpenters until 1966, since then by the Nikolaus Dyrlich workshop in Neudörfel. All deceased, including those from surrounding villages, are buried in individual and row graves. On special holidays, e.g. B. Easter riding or Corpus Christi procession runs through the cemetery, the deceased are greeted and the resurrection is announced. Approximately 400 graves in total (including children's graves!). |

Catholic pilgrimage church of St. Maria von der Linde. Large hall church visible from afar. Place of pilgrimage since the 16th century at the latest. Since 1754 under the patronage of the Cistercian Abbey of Marienstern (Panschwitz-Kuckau). The current building from 1778. In 1945 the church burned down. During the reconstruction, the sacristies were relocated from the east side nave yokes to the outer walls. The facades are structured by flat pillars with arched windows over a wide cornice. High hipped roof, mighty square west tower with strongly curved hood and lantern. Spacious three-aisled hall with five bays, barrel-vaulted with stitch caps, on strong cross pillars. Organ gallery in the Westjoch. The altar, which contains the miraculous image, a small statue of the Virgin Mary, from the 2nd half of the 15th century, is made up of parts of a late baroque altar from the Marienthal monastery (Ostritz-Marienthal, Löbau-Zittau district). Predella with lateral volutes, above it is structured by pillars with leaf hangers. Laterally in niches large wooden figures of St. Benedikt and Bernhard, above a heavily moved essay with crucifix and dove. Pulpit, after 1945, in baroque forms. Tabernacle, after 1700, by the Bautzen sculptor Georg Vater, on the east wall of the south aisle. Shrine-like structure with angels attached to the side. Noteworthy of the figures on the pillars is Anna Selbdritt, around 1500. Jehmlich organ, 1949, the case in baroque shapes. Next to the Administratur church, 1755, simple building with two storeys and a central projection, niches with figures of saints on the side wings between the windows, above the front door a sandstone panel with the coat of arms of the abbess of the Marienstern Monastery, Cordula Sommer.
