The Mühlenbachsee is under nature conservation standing lake about 1 km north of the Lower Saxon town of Rotenburg (Wümme) in the district of Rotenburg (Wümme) .
The nature reserve with the sign NSG LÜ 167 is 12 hectares in size. It is north of Rotenburg (Wümme). The lake was created through soil degradation during the construction of the northern Rotenburg bypass in the 1980s. The Mühlenbach flows through it. By placing it under protection , the near-natural development of the lake and the preservation of the shallow water areas with reeds and bushes in the bank area , which is also under protection, should be ensured.
The area has been a nature reserve since July 16, 1988. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Rotenburg (Wümme) district.
