The Rote Moor is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxon town of Visselhövede in the Rotenburg (Wümme) district .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG LÜ 319 is around 71  hectares . The 63.78 hectare FFH area "Moor am Schweinkobenbach" is part of the nature reserve. The area has been under protection since December 1, 2017. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Rotenburg (Wümme) district.

The nature reserve, which consists of two parts, is located southeast of Rotenburg (Wümme) and northwest of Visselhövede. It places a predominantly moist and muddy area in the lowlands of the Schweinkobenbach under protection, which flows into the Rodau in the north at the edge of the nature reserve . The area is in the east of moist oak mixed forests, which partly as oak hornbeam are pronounced, and biodiverse alder ash Auwald characterized residues from the naturnah in this section meandering flows through pig Kobe stream. The forest communities in the south and west of the nature reserve are part of breakage and peatland forests , the western part of the territory of dehydrated bog , dominated falter. In the bog forests, which are primarily made up of birch ( bog and sand birch ) and pines , u. a. the nail bush . In the eastern part of the nature reserve there are two grassland areas , which are characterized as nebulas and, in some cases, small sedge swamps . Here u. a. Borst grass , turf rush , roller sedge , millet , bladder and greenish yellow sedge as well as wood lice herb , white schnabelried , brown schnabelried and common devil bite . In places there are bog heaths with bell heather .

In the protected area there are several, partly silted up Schlatts and ponds , which are surrounded by reed beds , sedge beds and cotton grass-peat moss swinging lawns . Other small bodies of water in the nature reserve have arisen from earlier manual peat cuttings , which have developed close to nature and are surrounded by swinging turf.

The nature reserve is the habitat of the black stork. The Schweinkobenbach is a habitat u. a. of eel and minnow .

The nature reserve borders on wooded areas and agricultural areas .
