The Kleine Moor bei Sothel is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxon community of Scheeßel in the Rotenburg (Wümme) district .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG WE 322 is about 68  hectares . It is almost congruent with the FFH area “Sotheler Moor”. The area has been under nature protection since March 1, 2018. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Rotenburg (Wümme) district.

The nature reserve is located northwest of Scheeßel. It protects a drained raised bog . The area is predominantly characterized by pine-birch- bog forest and grassland areas embedded in it . In more humid areas, small patches of cotton grass and peat moss swing lawns can be found. There is also a body of still water within the nature reserve. In the edge areas of the protected area, oak forests grow partially.

The bog forests are formed by Scots pine , downy birch and sand birch as well as marsh grass in the undergrowth. Rosemary heather and common cranberry settle in the area , peat moss is represented by beautiful crane moss , Magellan's peat moss and warty peat moss . The area is habitat and a. of the dragonfly species Early Adonis Dragonfly , Vierfleck and Black Darter .

The nature reserve is drained via ditches towards the Oste . It is almost completely surrounded by agricultural land . In places it borders on ditches and farm roads .
