The nature reserve with the sign NSG LÜ 147 is 22 hectares in size. It is located northeast of Bülstedt and protects a small area of raised bog. The moor is the headwaters of a tributary of the Wörpe , which is developed into a drainage ditch in its course through the intensively used agricultural areas surrounding the protected area. In the nature reserve, the moorland is surrounded by grassland in the east and south . In the north-west there is a wild field on the edge of the nature reserve. In the north, the rest of sand heaths to find and moorland in the transition area to the bog. Water retention prevents further drainage of the moor and promotes raised moor vegetation.
