Michael Valgren Andersen (born February 7, 1992 ) is a Danish cyclist .

Athletic career

Valgren won as a U23 driver a. a. 2012 and 2013 in his age group Liège – Bastogne – Liège and a stage of the Tour de l'Avenir 2013. From the 2014 season he received his first contract with a UCI WorldTeam , the Danish team Tinkoff-Saxo . In his first year with this team, he was Danish road racing champion and won the Tour of Denmark .

At the Amstel Gold Race 2016 , he missed his first victory in a UCI WorldTour race after he was beaten by his runaway Enrico Gasparotto in a two-man sprint. In the summer of the same year, he repeated his overall victory in the Tour of Denmark in 2016 .

At the beginning of the 2018 season, Valgren had his greatest success to date: he won the WorldTour race Omloop Het Nieuwsblad by pulling 2.5 kilometers away from a group of twelve. At the Amstel Gold Race he won his second WorldTour race by winning a two-man sprint against Roman Kreuziger , with whom he attacked from the top group in the final of the race.
