Miguel Muñoz Trophy
The Miguel Muñoz Trophy ( Spanish Trofeo Miguel Muñoz ) is a football award given by the Spanish sports newspaper Marca . It was first awarded after the 2005/06 season and its name is a reminder of the legendary Real Madrid coach , Miguel Muñoz . Between 1959 and 1972 he was able to celebrate nine national championships and two successes in the European Cup with the capital club.
The award is given based on the Marca match day evaluation. After each match day, the coach receives points depending on the performance of his team. These points are added up and the coach who was able to collect the most points at the end of the season receives the trophy.
