Mike Schifferle (born July 21, 1973 in Lucerne ) is a former Swiss triathlete . He is included in the list of Swiss triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

Mike Schifferle started his first triathlon in 1998 and finished his first Ironman in 2001 (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running).

Professional triathlete since 2010

He has started as a professional athlete and in triathlon since 2010, especially in long-distance competitions. In June 2012 he finished third at the Ironman Regensburg with a personal best on the Ironman distance .

He has already qualified eight times for a starting place at Ironman Hawaii and competed there three times (2008, 2009, 2013). He achieved his best placement in 2013 when he was 30th.

In June 2017 he finished ninth in the Ironman Boulder . At the Ironman European Championships in Frankfurt am Main in July 2017, the 44-year-old came in 25th as the second-best Swiss. At the first edition of the Ironman Hamburg, he finished sixth in August. He has not appeared internationally since 2017.

The police officer at the Lucerne cantonal police lives in Ballwil .
