1978 NBA Draft

This list shows the results of the 1978 NBA draft . This is an NBA basketball league event where the league's teams can acquire the rights to available junior players. Most of the time, the drafted players come straight from college, but also from leagues outside of North America and earlier also from high school.

The best-known player who emerged from the 1978 NBA draft is probably Larry Bird . This made it as the only player next to Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain to MVP in three consecutive seasons .
