history

In the early modern era, a transport route for coal from the Ruhr area to the city of Solingen ran along the route of today's Lützowstrasse . Along this old coal road , on the section between the I. Stockdum and Laiken, several court estates or individual houses emerged over the years, including Neuenhaus, which was perhaps not built until the beginning of the 19th century. The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 already shows buildings at the site, which, however, belong to the Heider Hof. The Prussian first recording from 1843 lists the place as Neuenhaus . In the topographic map of the Düsseldorf administrative district from 1871, however, the place is not recorded.

After the establishment of the Mairien and later mayor's offices at the beginning of the 19th century, Neuenhaus belonged to the Ketzberg community within the Gräfrath mayor's office . In 1815/16 and 1830, nine residents lived in the town, which was categorized as an inn or Gütgen . In 1832, Neuenhaus was still part of the (Ketz-) Berg community within the Gräfrath mayor. According to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , he owned a house, a factory or mill and an agricultural building at that time. At that time there were seven residents living in the village, all of whom were evangelicals. The municipality and estate district statistics of the Rhine Province list the place in 1871 with one house and four residents. In the municipality lexicon for the province of Rhineland in 1885 a house with eleven inhabitants is given. In 1895 the district owned a house with eight inhabitants, in 1905 one house and eight inhabitants are given.

With the town union of Groß-Solingen in 1929, the village of Neuenhaus became a district of Solingen. The place name Neuenhaus has not been recorded in the city map since at least 1929, the buildings have since been numbered towards Lützowstrasse and Obere Holzstrasse.
