Nike (architecture award)

The BDA Architecture Prize Nike is an undoped architecture prize awarded by the Association of German Architects BDA for the first time in 2007 and awarded every three years .
The main prize is the Big Nike , a sculpture designed by Wieland Förster . The other six prize categories symbolism, atmosphere, cohesion, composition, social commitment and innovation, in each of which a “Nike” is awarded, illustrate the abundance and diversity of architectural quality criteria. Their winners receive a Nike drawing by Förster. Since 2013, the “Classic Nike” has also been awarded for the special value of a building or urban development project that has proven itself in use over several decades and is still considered exemplary.
The projects are nominated by the BDA regional associations . The BDA Architecture Prize is named after Nike , the goddess of victory .
