This article covers the Polish Olympic selection during the 1972 Summer Olympics .

Olympic qualification

Poland prevailed against Greece in the first round and moved into the decisive second round. There, after three wins and one defeat, they narrowly prevailed over Bulgaria and qualified for the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich .

Games

With three wins in the preliminary round against Colombia, Ghana and the GDR, Poland moved into the intermediate round. In this one started with a draw against Denmark, which was followed by two victories against the Soviet Union and Mexico. As group winners they now played in the final against defending champions Hungary, who were defeated by two goals from Deyna .
