Open Air Hoch-Ybrig

The Open Air Hoch-Ybrig is a music festival in Hoch-Ybrig ( Canton Schwyz ), which took place every year in June from 2001 to 2011. It was always the first of the Swiss open air season and lasted three days. In 2007 the Hoch-Ybrig Open Air attracted 11,200 visitors. Since its second edition, in 2002, the Openair has focused on Swiss artists under the motto Best of Swiss Music , around 28 of whom appear at a time.

history

2001: The Open Air Hoch-Ybrig was held for the first time on May 19, 2001. Performed: DJ Ötzi , The Georgia Satellites , Mash , Rednex , Slack Donkeys, Snout Snails and Spider Murphy Gang . The open air lasted one day and was attended by 2,500 people.

2002: The second open air was for the first time under the motto Best of Swiss Music and took place from June 14th to 16th. The three-day event attracted 10,000 visitors. 500 helpers were mobilized for this. Performers included: Florian Ast , Polo Hofer , Krokus , Mash , Sina , Subzonic , Vivian and Züri West .

2003: The third edition took place from June 13th to 15th in rainy weather for the first time and again attracted around 10,000 visitors. Due to the high number of visitors in the previous year, the open-air site and the infrastructure were expanded. Among others, Anshelle , Core22 , Gotthard , Michael von der Heide , Lovebugs , Patent Ochsner and Stiller Has performed .

2004: The fourth Open Air Hoch-Ybrig took place from June 11th to 13th under three days of continuous rain. Nevertheless, it again attracted around 10,000 music fans. Performed among others: Bagatello , Brandhärd , Dada (ante portas) , Krokus , Myrto , Plüsch , QL , Sandee , Shakra and Marc Sway .

2005: The fifth edition took place from June 17th to 19th in ideal weather. The number of visitors has leveled off at 10,000. There were, among others: Mia Aegerter , Aextra , Florian Ast , Blusbueb , attractant , Mash , Patrick Nuo , Open Season , Phenomden , Seven , Sina and Andreas Vollenweider .

2006: The sixth open air took place from June 9th to 11th under summer conditions. A few days before the snowy weather prevailed, which was noticeable in the first phase of the advance booking. In the end, 9,000 people attended the event, which was carried out on 2 stages with a total of 29 acts. Performed among others: Baschi , Daniel Kandlbauer , Krokus , Lovebugs , Luut & Tüütli , Patent Ochsner , Shakra and Span .

2007: The seventh edition of the Openair took place from June 8th to 10th and marked the previous record with 11,200 people. Performances included: Famara , Gölä , Polo Hofer & Schmetterlingband , Attractstoff , Fabienne Louves , Lunatica , Lunik , Pegasus , Plüsch , QL , Redwood , Vivian , Adrian Weyermann and Sandra Wild .

2008: The eighth Open Air Hoch-Ybrig took place from June 13th to 15th in cool and changeable rainy weather and competed with other major events such as the Greenfield Festival and the 2008 European Football Championship . Nevertheless, the open air attracted a total of 10,000 visitors. Among others, there were: Bligg , Gölä , Stefanie Heinzmann , Myron , Sandee , Sina , Toni Vescoli and Züri West .

2011: The founders of the festival receive the Swiss entertainment prize Prix ​​Walo . The festival was discontinued due to insufficient audience numbers.
