Patrick Peter (born January 27, 1994 in Vienna ) is an Austrian ice hockey player who has been playing with the Vienna Capitals in the Austrian ice hockey league since 2010 .
Career
At the age of 15, Patrick Peter, who had his first experiences on the ice with the EAC Pinguinen, already played for the Vienna Capitals in the Austrian U20 league. In the 2010/11 season he was not only used regularly in the U20 of the capital city club, but also played in the second men's team, which played in the Oberliga , the third Austrian league, and also got ten appearances in the Austrian ice hockey League , the highest class in the country. In the following year he played with the Capitals Reserve in the National League , the second highest division in the Alpine republic, but has now already played fifteen top division games. Since 2012 has been a permanent member of the ÖEHL squad of the Vienna club. In his first season as a regular player, he was voted Rookie of the Year of the league. In 2017 he won the Austrian championship title with the club from his hometown , the second for the capital city after 2005.
International
Peter played for Austria in the junior division at the U18 World Cup in 2012 and the U20 World Cup in 2012 , 2013 and 2014 , when he was voted the best player in his team, both in Division I.
In the men's selection of the Alpine country, Peter made his debut in a 3-2 defeat after extra time against Slovenia on April 10, 2014 in Vienna . A few days later, he took part in the 2014 Division I World Championships for the first time , where he and his team were promoted to the top division. However, he was unable to stay there the following year and had to accept immediate descent with the Alpine countries. After the Austrians were promoted to the top division again in 2017 without him, the team, now again with Peter, managed to stay relegated at the 2018 World Cup for the first time since 2004.
