European Book Prize

The European Book Prize , officially known as the Prix ​​du livre européen , was founded in 2007 and is awarded annually. It is supported by Jacques Delors , the former President of the EU Commission, and honors works that deal with the topic of Europe and that were published in one of the 28 member states of the EU last year. The aim of the award is to promote European values ​​and to help bring Europe closer to its citizens.

The European Book Prize was founded by France Roque (Public Relations Director of the Nouvel Observateur and co-founder of Editions Saint-Simon, Publishing), Luce Perrot (founder and president of the Lire la Politique association and organizer of various specialist book fairs) and François-Xavier Priollaud (co-founder of Editions Saint-Simon, publishing and lecturer at the Institut d'études politiques de Paris ).

The prize is awarded annually and is endowed with 10,000 euros (as of 2018). In addition, the books included in the selection are announced in a shortlist.
