Premio Andersen
The Premio Andersen (in German: Andersen Prize ) is an Italian literary prize that honors authors , editors , translators and illustrators of children's books. The award is dedicated to the Danish author Hans Christian Andersen . The award was founded in 1982 by Gualtiero Schiaffino , and the award ceremony takes place in the Ligurian town of Sestri Levante , where Andersen often stayed.
The jury is made up of the editors of the Andersen magazine - Il mondo dell'infanzia and the team from the Milan Youth Library .
The award is not to be confused with other prizes in the genre, such as the international Hans Christian Andersen Award .
