Pyrgos ( Greek Πύργος ( m. Sg. ) 'Tower') is a village in the municipality of Pythagorio on the Greek island of Samos .

location

Pyrgos

The place lies at an altitude of 390 m on a saddle which represents the transition from the west side to the east side of the island. In the immediate vicinity of the village, two streams run from the Ambelos Mountains , the Amfilysos (Αμφίλυσος) flows to the west and the Imvrasos to the east. In addition, two thoroughfares cross, the west-east connection (Karlovasi-Pythagorio) and a subordinate north-south connection.

The first settlers came in the 16th century from the village of the same name, Pyrgos in the Peloponnese.
