Rosenbach (colloquially: Rosnbåch ) is a district of the market Neunkirchen am Brand in the Forchheim district in Upper Franconia .

The church village is located in the valley on Weiherbach (called Weihergraben in the lower reaches), a right tributary of the Schwabach . The place is divided into Ober-, Mittel- and Unterrosenbach, which now form a closed settlement. In the west as in the east it is surrounded by wooded hills: in the west Grünholz, there nameless elevation ( 372  m above sea level ) and Welluckner wood, in the east Burgerholz, there Geißberg ( 366  m above sea level ). history

The place was first mentioned in 1315 as "Rossmarspach". The final word is Rosmār , the personal name of the founder of the place. The original feudal lords were the lords of Gründlach , in 1315 it was already a fiefdom of the Bamberg Monastery . The Neunkirchen am Brand monastery was wealthy in the village . Since 1524 it was in the Fraisch district of the Brandenburg-Kulmbach Oberamt Baiersdorf . The landlords were the Dompropsteiamt Büchenbach and the Klosteramt Neunkirchen , both Bamberg offices, and the parish of Uttenreuth.

As part of the municipality Edict (early 19th century) Rosenbach was the control district Uttenreuth assigned and Rural community Rosenbach formed to the Haber Hofer mill , Lange Brucker mill and pond included. It was subordinate to the Erlangen Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and to the Erlangen Rent Office for financial administration . From 1818 Weiher formed a rural community with the Habernhofermühle and Langenbruckermühle. The community last had an area of ​​3.085 km².

On January 1, 1977, Rosenbach was incorporated into the municipality of Neunkirchen am Brand as part of the regional reform .
