history

Weiher was probably founded before 1100. However, the place was first mentioned in a document in 1439 as "Zu dem Weyer". It was named after the five- acre pond belonging to the Marloffstein office (explicitly mentioned in 1516), which was drained by the 19th century at the latest. The original feudal lord were the lords of Gründlach and in their successor it was inherited by the lords of Brauneck . Finally it came to the Burgraviate of Nuremberg . Originally the place was in the Fraisch district of the Bamberg Centamt Neunkirchen . By contractual agreement, it belonged to the Fraisch of the Brandenburg-Kulmbach Oberamt Baiersdorf since 1524 . The village and community rulership was exercised by the Frauenaurach monastery , which fell to Brandenburg-Kulmbach in the second half of the 16th century and was converted into the Frauenaurach monastery office. The imperial city of Nuremberg was the landlord of a court from the beginning , and since 1588 it has been the Nuremberg patricians Haller . The remaining properties had the Frauenaurach monastery as the landlord. The royalties were used for angel mass . In 1653 their ownership was given as 1 estate and 5 farms, in 1669 with 1 farm and 5 Sölden farms, in 1690 with 1 farm , 2 half farms and 2 farms. In addition, the monastery was entitled to forest rights in the Sebaldi . In 1778 there were 11 properties in the village: 9 properties were subordinate to the Frauenaurach monastery office (1 courtyard with 2 owners, 1 courtyard, 4 half-yards, 1 estate, 1 Gütlein), 2 properties belonging to the Haller von Hallerstein (2 half-yards).

As part of the community edict (early 19th century) Weiher was assigned to the tax district of Uttenreuth and the rural community of Rosenbach . In 1818 the rural community Weiher was formed, to which Habernhofermühle and Langenbruckermühle belonged. In administration and jurisdiction, it was subordinate to the Erlangen Regional Court and in the financial administration to the Erlangen Rent Office (from 1920 Erlangen Tax Office ). From 1862, Weiher was administered by the Erlangen District Office (renamed the Erlangen District in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained until 1879 the District Court Erlangen, from 1880 at the district court Erlangen . The municipality had an area of 1.677 km².

On May 1, 1978, the municipality of Weiher was incorporated into the municipality of Uttenreuth as part of the regional reform .
