Rzecino [ ʒɛ'tɕinɔ ] (German Retzin ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship . It is located 18 kilometers south of Białogard ( Belgard ) and belongs to the Gmina Rąbino ( rural municipality of Groß Rambin ).
history
In 1628, Retzin and its Vorwerk Granzin were named as a fief of the Manteuffel family . It is the easternmost place with the name Retzin; two places of the same name are located in Prignitz (in the municipality of Groß Pankow ) and in the northern Uckermark (in the municipality of Ramin ). Asmus and Gerd von Manteuffel and Döring Jakob von Krockow owned the local Retzin in 1655 . In the course of the 17th century, the former manor split into two parts. Afterwards the owners often changed with names like von Glasenapp , von Zitzewitz , von Lenz, von Weyher or von Podewils .
At the end of the war in 1945, Retzin, which belonged to the Belgard district , was managed by the manor owner Erich Malue, the Karl Zitzke farm, the Hans Torp farm and nine farms. Crafts and trades were represented by a tailor's shop, blacksmith shop, wheelwright, body shop and a general store. In 1939 the village had 452 inhabitants (106 households), in 1865 there were only a little more with 458.
Until 1945, Retzin belonged to the administrative and registry office district of Arnhausen (now in Polish Lipie ) and to the district court district of Bad Polzin (Połczyn-Zdrój). The last German mayor of Retzin was Franz Ohlow, the last head of the office was Karl Griep, and the last registrars were Walter Frank and Hans-Ulrich Pretzell.
On March 4, 1945, the Red Army occupied the village, which came to Poland after the war and its previous residents were expelled . Today Rzecino belongs to the Gmina Rąbino ( rural community Groß Rambin ) in the powiat Świdwiński .
church
Retzin has its own church , which was built in 1862. It is a half-timbered church with a belfry next to the church. The church was taken over by the Polish Catholic Church after 1945 and solemnly consecrated again on October 7, 1957. Today it is called the Church of St. Joseph the Worker . Rzecino is still a branch church of the now Catholic parish Lipie ( Arnhausen ), now in the deanery Połczyn-Zdrój ( Bad Polzin ) in the diocese of Koszalin-Kołobrzeg ( Archdiocese of Stettin-Cammin ).
Before 1945, Retzin and Granzin were a branch parish in the parish of Arnhausen (now Lipie) and thus belonged to the Belgard parish in the church province of Pomerania of the Protestant Church of the Old Prussian Union . In 1940 there were 508 parishioners in the Retzin branch. The last Retzin landowners, Erich Malue and Hans Torp, were last responsible for church patronage .
Today Rzecino belongs to the Parish Koszalin ( Köslin ) of the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg (Lutheran) Confession in Poland . The nearest churches are Białogard ( Belgard ) and Świdwin ( Schivelbein ).
school
Retzin had a village school in which in 1928 68 children were taught by two teachers in two classrooms. The school has survived to this day as a small, sometimes referred to as the smallest school in Poland, elementary school. In 2003 only six children were still in school.
