San Gil is a municipality (municipio) in the department of Santander in Colombia and the capital of the province Guanentá . Together with Socorro, San Gil is the seat of the Diocese of Socorro y San Gil .

San Gil is located 96 km south of Bucaramanga and 327 km northeast of Bogotá at an altitude of 1114 m above sea level. NN and has an average temperature of 24 ° C.
