Florián , also known as El Florián known, a municipality ( municipio ) in the department of Santander in Colombia . history

Before the arrival of the Spaniards, the indigenous people of the Muiscas and Muzos lived in the area of ​​today's Florián . The present place was founded in 1915 under the name Puerto de Florián and named after the most important settler family. Florián has had parish status since 1975.

economy

The main industry in Florián is agriculture . Cattle production is particularly important . In particular, coffee , sugar cane , cocoa , bananas , cassava , corn , citrus fruits , lulo , guava and tree tomatoes are grown. There is also milk production .
