Shalyhyne ( Ukrainian Шалигине ; Russian Шалыгино Schalygino ) is an urban-type settlement in the Ukrainian Sumy Oblast with about 2,400 inhabitants (2014).

Schalyhyne is located near the Russian border in Hluchiw Rajon on the territorial road T-19-21 and on the bank of the Lapuha ( Лапуга ), a 21 km long left tributary of the Obesta ( Обеста ), 21 km southeast of the district center Hluchiw and 130 km northwest of Oblastzentrum Sumy .

The settlement council community belonged to 2016, in addition Schalyhyne, nor the village Jemadykyne with about 25 inhabitants, the village Tscherniwske was disbanded, 2013. On August 12, 2016, the settlement became the center of the newly established settlement community Schalyhyne (Шалигинська селищна громада / Schalyhynska selyschtscha hromada ) to this are also the eight villages Chodyne (Ходине) Hudowe (Гудове) Jemadykyne (Ємадикине) Katerynivka (Катеринівка ), Swarkowe (Сваркове), Sosniwka (Соснівка), Starykowe (Старикове) and Vowkiwka (Вовківка).
