Voronisch ( Ukrainian Вороніж ; Russian Воронеж Voronezh ) is an urban-type settlement in Sumy Oblast in northern Ukraine with over 7,000 inhabitants (2014).
history
The town, which has had the status of an urban-type settlement since 1938, celebrated its 830th anniversary on September 15, 2007.
geography
Voronisch lies on the Ossota ( Ukrainian Осота ), a 31 km long tributary of the Desna , in the Shostka district in the north of the Sumy Oblast . The village's train station is on the Konotop – Navlja railway line on the Piwdenno-Sachidna Zaliznytsia . The T-19-07 territorial road runs through Voronisch , via which the Shostka district center can be reached after 12 km in a northerly direction.
