Druzhba ( Ukrainian and Russian Дружба ) is a city in Sumy Oblast in northern Ukraine with 5000 inhabitants (2014).

history

The predecessors of the village, founded in 1685, were Shuravka (Юрасовка) and Jurassowka (Журавка) which later became Khutor- Mikhailovsky (Хутор-Михайловский) and Ukrainian Khutir-Mychajliwskyj (Хутір-іхикий). In December 1962, the place was granted city rights and its current name.

From October 1, 1941 to September 5, 1943 Khutor-Mychailowskyj was occupied by the Wehrmacht . St. Nicholas Church, a church building of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kiev Patriarchate , was rebuilt in 2010.

Druzhba is located in Sumy Oblast in the north of Jampil Raion . The city, which has a train station, is a railway junction of the Piwdenno-Sachidna Salisnyzja on the Vorozhba – Orsha and Konotop – Navlja railway lines .

The territorial road T-19-15 runs through the city , via which the district center of Jampil can be reached after 19 km in a south -westerly direction and the city of Seredyna-Buda after 31 km in a north-easterly direction.

For Councilor village belonged until 2016 near the town of Druzhba yet the village Dowschyk , on 12 August 2016, the city was the center of the newly established municipality of Druzhba (Дружбівська міська громада / Druschbiwska miska hromada ), this includes also the 11 villages Buhor (Бугор) , Dowschyk (Довжик) Doroschenkowe (Дорошенкове) Doroschiwka (Дорошівка) Kossynske (Косинське) Mykytske (Микитське) Objedane (Об'єднане) Palaschtschenkowe (Палащенкове) Romankowe (Романькове) Tschujkiwka (Чуйківка) and Wassylez ( Василець).
