Schlaming is a place in the Pongauer Salzachtal , Salzburg State, as well as a place and cadastral community of the parish Pfarrwerfen in the district of Sankt Johann (Pongau) .

geography

Schlaming is located about 14 km north of St. Johann im Pongau, northeast of the village of Pfarrwerfen and east above Werfen Markt . The scattered settlement lies in the Bischofshofen-St.-Johanner basin , at the foot of the Tennengebirge on the right of the Salzach . It extends to heights between 528  m on the Salzach and 1025  m above sea level. A. about 5 km from the Zetzenbergkogel  ( 740  m above sea level ) at Hohenwerfen Fortress to the Rettenbach , which flows into the Salzach between Werfen and Pfarrwerfen. The location includes around 50 buildings with a good 150 inhabitants.

The local area, which makes up the majority of the cadastral community of Dorfwerfen , also includes the entire northern Pfarrwerfen community area right into the high plateau of the Tennengebirge on the community boundary from the Streitmandlscharte to the Ofenrinne at Hochtörl , above the Lueg pass . The Edelweißhütte and Leopold-Happisch-Haus are located there .

History and infrastructure

The Good Schlaming bey's take one of the Urhöfen of Pongau and is already documented in 1333. It belonged to Pfarrwerfen as its own property .

In the 1870s the Kaiserin-Elisabeth-Bahn (Salzburg-Tiroler-Bahn) with a train station was built on the Salzach .

In the 1970s, the Tauern Autobahn was built parallel to the railway , the tunnel in the Werfen construction lot (km 34.2–42.3) was built from 1974–1976, and the line opened on October 25, 1977. Here is the south portal of the Zetzenberg tunnel through the Zetzenbergkogel, and a junction at the train station.

Is located on the Salzach the station Take the Salzburg-Tyrol Railway (Western Railway) , the place throwing on the other side of the Salzach can be reached via a bridge.

The S3 line of the Salzburg S-Bahn stops here, in some cases also REX courses of the ÖBB, which are integrated into the Salzburg Transport Association  (SVV).

Junction Werfen

The Werfen junction (Exit 43) of the A 10  Tauern motorway joins the B 159 Salzachtal Straße  (km 38.6–39.0) between Werfen and Pfarrwerfen near Grießl via a feeder across the Salzach .

It is only half a connection (to and from Salzburg), the other motorway direction is connected to Pfarrwerfen (Exit 44) (connected to Grießl on Werfenwenger Straße  L229).

Sights and conservation

The northern locations of Schlaming (Zaismann, Fallstein, Schröckenberg) behind Hohenwerfen

The Eisriesenwelt is the largest known ice cave in the world. You can reach it from Werfen via the ice cave road via the Gasthof Schröckenberg and then on to the Eisriesenwelt-Rasthütte (KG  Wimm ), from where you can also take the cable car to the entrance of the cave.

All the high-lying parts of the Tennen mountains are part of the nature reserve Tennengebirge , all other areas above the highway are in the conservation area Tennengebirge mitausgewiesen which is a kind of buffer zone.

The Nordalpenweg  ( WW01 / E4 ) and Via Alpina ( Violetter Weg, stage A35) lead via Schlaming from St. Martin am Tennengebirge along the southern flank over the Wengerwinkl to Werfen. Via Schlaming, the paths also lead to the Eisriesenwelt and the Tennengebirge mountains, and easily to Lampersbach .
