history

The area around Schopfhof was already inhabited by people in the post-glacial stone age . This is proven by a settlement area about 300 meters east of the village and protected as a soil monument (D-5-6732-0092). Several Bronze Age and pre-Roman Iron Age settlements (D-5-6732-0086 and D-5-6732-0091) were also within a radius of about one kilometer. At the turn of the times, the area was the southernmost branch of the Narisker settlement area . The settlement was abandoned during the Roman expansion, as the Limes was only a strict day's march south and times became too restless. There are no findings from the migration of peoples from 300-600 AD and only sporadically resumed under the Carolingians , when Schopfhof belonged to the Sualafeldgau .

In 1282 the place was first mentioned in a document as "Schoppheloch". The base word of the place name Loch denotes a forest or wetland area. The meaning of the determiner remains unclear. The place was mentioned as "Schophloch" in the Salbuch for the Abenberg Care Office in Eichstätt , which was set up around 1300. At that time the bishop had a hat there . Around 1400 the farm was exchanged for an estate in Kühedorf . In the 17th century the single courtyard was split into two half courtyards. In 1732 there were two properties in Schopfhof, according to the descriptions of the Oberamts by Johann Georg Vetter , both of which were under the Schwabach Hospital .

Towards the end of the 18th century, the Schopfhof belonged to Götzenreuth . In Schopfhof there were still two properties and a community pastor's house. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Schwabach . The two half farms had the caste office Schwabach and Spital Schwabach as landlords . Under the Prussian administration (1792–1806) of the Principality of Ansbach, the Schopfhof was given house numbers 8 to 10 in Götzenreuth. In 1802 there were two properties in the village.

As part of the municipal edict, Schopfhof was assigned to the Günzersreuth tax district in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Günzersreuth formed in 1818 . On January 1, 1972, Schopfhof was incorporated into Büchenbach as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .

For centuries the place lived from growing hops .
