from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2015/16 Swiss Football Championship was the 46th season in women's football. FC Zurich women became champions again .

mode

Both the NLA and the NLB each have a qualifying round and a second part in which champions, promoted and relegated teams are determined.

In the qualifying rounds of the two highest leagues there are 10 teams each, which play one home and one away game against each opponent. In total, each team plays 18 games.

The best eight clubs in National League A qualify for the final round, in which half of the points earned (rounded up) are taken. Two teams only meet one more time. In total, each team will play seven more games. The first place in the final round is Swiss champions at the end of the season and qualifies for the 2015/16 UEFA Women's Champions League .

The two worst teams in National League A compete together with the two best teams in National League B in the promotion / relegation round. No points are taken from the qualifying rounds here. Two teams meet each other twice. In total, each team will play six more games. The two best teams play in the NLA the following season, the other two in the NLB.

The remaining eight clubs in National League B must compete in the relegation round. As in the final round of the NLA, half of the points earned are taken. Here, too, two teams meet only once and play seven more games. The two last-placed teams have to move into the first division .

National League A

Ten teams took part in the National League A. The defending champion was FC Zurich Women . The only newcomer is FCF Rapid Lugano , which was renamed FF Lugano 1976 in August 2015. On May 28, 2016, FC Zurich secured its 5th title in a row or its 20th overall. The FC St. Gallen rose from the end of the season.
