Sebastian Hülk (born January 10, 1975 in Bottrop ) is a German actor .

Life

Education and theater

Hülk initially received classical violin training from 1980 to 1994 . From 2000 to 2004 he studied acting at the University of Film and Television "Konrad Wolf" . During his training he played at the Berlin Vaganten stage and at the studio stage of the Maxim Gorki Theater .

From 2005 to 2007 Hülk was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater Kassel . There he stepped u. a. as Brad Majors in the musical The Rocky Horror Show (2005), as Ben in Lost Paradise by Clifford Odets (2005; directed by Karin Neuhäuser ), as Spiegelberg in Die Räuber (2006), in the title role of Liliom (2006), as Kreon in Antigone (2006), as Aaron in The Desecration of Botho Strauss (2007) and as Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet (2007). In 2005 Hülk played Tricky in the German premiere of Dejan Dukovski's play The Other Side in Kassel , directed by Gustav Rueb . In the 2005/06 season he was awarded the State Theater Kassel's young talent award.

In the 2007/08 season he took on the role of speaker in a Peer Gynt ballet production at the Zurich Opera House (choreographer: Heinz Spoerli ). In the 2010/11 season he made guest appearances at the Staatstheater Hannover as Komtur, Don Carlos, Farmer Pierrot and Farmer Girl Mathurine in Don Juan von Molière in a production by Sebastian Schug . From 2011 to 2013 he was the speaker in Spoerli's Peer Gynt production at the Berlin State Ballet .

Movie and TV

Hülk has also been working for television and film since 2003. He has worked in numerous German and international film productions. He mostly played prominent supporting roles in international cinema productions. Often he was committed to the role of the villain.

He made his television debut in 2003 with a supporting role as a youth in the successful ARD series Berlin, Berlin . This was followed by supporting roles in The Last Battle (2005; as Lieutenant of the Reichsluftfahrt ), later in Inglourious Basterds (2009; as driver of SS-Sturmbannführer Hellstrom) and The Popess (2009; as envoy of the Bishop of Dorstadt).

In the multiple award-winning feature film Ghetto (2006) he played the leading role of SS-Obersturmführer Bruno Kittel; he embodied an art-loving, but also sadistic officer. In the movie The White Ribbon - A German Children's Story (2009) he played Max, the farmer's son. In the literary film adaptation Boxhagener Platz (2010) he took on the supporting role of Lieutenant Kringe; he played an officer in the GDR criminal police.

In the following years he had other supporting roles in the road movie Wer ist Hanna? (2011; as Titch), in the Holocaust drama Die Lost Time (2011; as SS guard at the gate), in Steven Spielberg's war drama Companions (2011; as a German officer), in the action and fantasy film Hansel and Gretel: Witches Hunters (2013; as deputy), Die Bücherdiebin (2013; as agent of the Gestapo ) and Lauf Junge Lauf (2013, as SS man) and Hitman: Agent 47 (2015; as Garad). In between, he had leading roles and significant supporting roles in German-language film and television productions. In the ZDF television series A strong team , he was seen in 2011 in the episode Blood Sisters as a suspected car mechanic Henning Gehrcke.
