history

"Henningi villa" is documented for the first time in 1289 with a Scholzen Konrad. 1303-04 "villa Starowitz vel Heynygsdorf" is recorded in the "Registrum Wratislaviense". It initially belonged to the Duchy of Breslau and after its division in 1311 to the Duchy of Brieg . In 1343 "Hennyngi villa" was acquired by the city of Grottkau, with whom it came a year later to the episcopal principality of Neisse ( diocesan land ), which had been a fiefdom of the crown of Bohemia since 1342 . In 1370 the place is mentioned as Hennyngisdorf . In 1380 two allodes are documented, in 1425 it consisted of six Hufen and a tavern that lay desolate. A quarter of the income at that time was related to a servant of the bishop for life. The Vorwerk belonged to the Baltzer Rothkirch in 1579 . In 1651 there was a dispute over the church patronage between the bishop and the Rothkirch.

After the First Silesian War in 1742 Hönig village coincided with the largest part of the Principality Neisse to Prussia .

In 1800 a school was established in the village. Until the secularization in 1810 it remained connected to the diocese. After the reorganization of the province of Silesia , the rural community Hönigsdorf belonged to the district of Grottkau in the administrative district of Opole from 1816 . In 1845 there was a Catholic church, a Catholic school, a vinegar factory, a brewery, two farms and 62 other houses in the village. In the same year, 368 people lived in Hönigsdorf, five of them Protestants. The castle was built in 1854 and belonged to the Zimmer family from 1860 onwards. In 1855 there were 422 people in Hönigsdorf. In 1865 there were twelve farmers, 29 gardeners and ten cottagers in the village . The one-class Catholic school was attended by 89 students in the same year. In 1874 the district of Hönigsdorf was founded, which consisted of the rural communities Hönigsdorf and Klein Zindel and the estate districts of Hönigsdorf and Klein Zindel. In 1885 Hönigsdorf had 363 inhabitants.

In 1933, 389 people lived in Hönigsdorf. In the same year the Hönigsdorf district was dissolved. The village came to the district of Endersdorf. In 1939 Höngsdorf had 336 inhabitants. Until the end of the war in 1945, the place belonged to the district of Grottkau .

As a result of the Second World War, Hönigsdorf fell under Polish administration in 1945, like most of Silesia . Subsequently, the place was renamed Starowice Dolne and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. The German population was largely expelled. In 1950 Starowice Dolne was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Brzeski ( Brieg district ).
